Summary of the Position: The Installation Lead plays a key role in the Service team and reports to the Service Manager. The Installation Lead is involved in and oversees the installation process, including delivery of product and the staging and installation of a variety of office furniture (desks, chairs, workstations, cubicles, etc.). The Installation Lead must exhibit a keen eye for detail and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service and problem-solving throughout the installation process including comprehensive daily recaps. Specific Roles and Responsibilities: • Leading an installation crew to ensure the smooth and timely completion of projects. • Performing installation work, including the assembly of desks, chairs, workstations, cubicles, and the like. • Assisting in the hiring and training of an installation crew to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards. • Executing installation plans utilizing the appropriate processes and procedures specified for the project. • Performing specialized service, warranty, and repair work on customer product. • Resolving installation project issues and punch list items with the installation team. • Delivering furniture orders to customer sites, including loading and unloading of the delivery vehicle, assembling orders, and obtaining customer sign-off. • Assisting in the planning and execution of installation projects. • Providing showroom support as needed. • Conducting product inventories/dispositions. • Able to provide detailed documentation of install progress in the daily and weekly project recaps which would include photos, punch form, capturing and documenting any damage with photos, etc. Key Skills Required: • Understand mechanics and construction of commercial furniture; be skilled at fixing commercial furniture through repair, adjustments, parts replacement or touch-up. • Be able to accurately and consistently complete all necessary paperwork pertaining to installation projects. • Communicate clearly, concisely, and in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors, and customers. • Have an exceptional customer service attitude and manner; communicate efficiently and effectively problems, solutions, costs and time frames. • Be dependable and reliable. • Possess a high level of attention to detail. • Be able to safely operate all power tools, equipment, forklift, and service vans/trucks; train installation crew to safely operate all power tools, equipment, and service vehicles as necessary. Qualifications: • A minimum of 5 years’ experience installing commercial furniture (preferably Knoll) or other relevant experience. • Experience leading installation projects and crews is preferred. • Possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle.
