Description
Looking for people who don't expect to make money, who are easy to get along with and have pride in their craft but not ego driven. Male or female, as long as you can play/sing.
I hope to gig twice & rehearse once a month. This will be a light equipment gig. No Marshall stacks or big PA systems. The only places to play right now are restaurants, mostly those that also serve alcohol. These places don't want louder bands & tend to cater more to families & not the typical club goer. Whether or not Covid stays or goes away these places will be continuing to have bands so that's what were shooting for.
I want to do music with more of a pop feel. No metal, no hair band, no traditional blues, no funk, no real jazz, & nothing overly complicated like Rush (who I love) or Dream Theater. Essentially, Garage Rock without the grungier & punk elements. That leaves music that's easier to learn & play (Petty, Hollies, Beatles, Stones, Traveling Wilburys, 60's soul, maybe some country). Mostly upbeat music that audiences already know & love but also avoiding cliches like Suzy Q, Margaritaville and Brick House as much as possible.
Listen, all good music is good music whether I like it or not. Most bands have several different tastes represented & are the better for it. As long as we agree on the general direction & respect each other our personal tastes aren't an issue.
The drummer, lead guitar/vocalist & I (bass) can play almost anything you hear on local rock radio or Jack/Bob FM. We have all the gear we need and a good place to rehearse.
Please reply by email with your age, basic style of playing/singing, years experience singing/playing in a church or club & your zip code or local community. Long distance is discouraged.
We're tired of waiting for Covid to end and ready to play again. If you have any questions please ask.
OHHH-and we don't care what your politics are as long as you don't care what ours are.
