Maintenance Technician – Food Manufacturing Oakhouse Bakery - Madison, WI Job Summary This person will assist with maintenance and repair efforts to ensure all equipment is operating in a safe and efficient manner, and to keep down-time to a minimum. This person will maintain accurate and detailed records of all daily work, and work successfully with the various parts and equipment vendors. Additionally, this person will suggest operational improvements and be committed to all food safety, quality, housekeeping, and employee safety practices. The successful candidate will have a knowledge of food manufacturing processes, as well as SQF and GMP. General Function: Assist with all assigned equipment and facility maintenance and repair functions. Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Wage: Based on Experience Standards of Performance: • Reduce equipment downtime • Accurate completion of daily paperwork • Maintain and improve production line capabilities and efficiencies • Maintain Preventative Maintenance Schedule • Observe and follow all company safety procedures, GMPs, and other company policies • Identify work that needs to be done; take initiative to get it done • Develop a positive business relationship with, and support the production staff to achieve company objectives Authority: To stop a process for personal safety and/or food quality reasons Shift hours may be negotiable, but will be 9 to 11 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Some weekends may be required as well. Responsibilities and Duties: Troubleshoot equipment challenges, communicate with respective equipment manufacturer(s), resolve issues Continually work to improve the condition of the facility Maintain machinery to ensure a consistent flow of product through processing machinery Complete required paperwork Follow established Quality and Safety procedures Complete assigned maintenance and repair responsibilities Qualifications: At least 5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment Previous experience with packaging equipment preferred Extensive knowledge of electrical and PLCs is critical Experience with metal fabrication; MIG and TIG welding experience Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting, and extensive experience reading schematic drawings/diagrams Comprehensive understanding of Food Quality and Safety procedures, GMPs, and employee safety programs Pass a pre-employment drug test Benefits Health insurance is available after 60 days of employment.
