Garage Door Technician- HIRING IMMEDIATELY Experience preferred but not required, training is available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned.) We are looking for a successful candidate who will be responsible for troubleshooting garage door service calls and perform repairs, along with scheduled maintenance of equipment based on customers' demand. A successful technician will promote our service and products in a professional manner and provide customer satisfaction when taking care of the customer. • Assist and perform maintenance efficiently and effectively on garage door equipment including openers, springs, panels, etc. • Learn to diagnose faulty equipment and apply knowledge of functional operation of unit and systems to identify the extent and cause of malfunction (troubleshooting). • Work with dispatch team to maximize labor revenue and efficiency within the work schedule while accounting for 100% of work time. • Completes work orders on paper-based documents according to established procedures • Project a positive image when interacting with customers, employees, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner. • Communicate and work with the management and sales departments to ensure the customer’s needs are being met; immediately report any potential customer issues that need to be addressed and communicate positively and courteously with our customers. • Travel throughout coverage area during the workday. • Drive safely and efficiently from point to point in service area. • Proactively support our safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures, and ensure utilization of safe work practices on-site, in the warehouse, and in the office. • Performs work in a variety of customer environments including exposure to elements and in-climate weather. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. • 2 – 5-year experience in the garage door industry preferred. • Mechanical and electrical skills required • Troubleshooting skills required LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate basic math, read a tape measure, and do basic spring conversions. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of working at heights to service doors and operators using ladders. Related fields of experience: Construction, labor, HVAC, roofing, plumbing, A/C. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
