Bucha Leather is a venture-backed company creating animal & plastic-free leather made from bacterial nanocellulose. Website: ​ Position Description: As a Lab Hand/Science Intern at Bucha Leather, you will purchase and move water, black tea, and sugar to create large amounts of bacterial media, assist in the execution of experiments, analyze results from media growth & manage the production of bio-leather over a production timeline. This position works directly with the CEO and Management of Bucha Leather, Inc. Need to have the following minimum qualifications: Be in or have graduated from a Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or another science-related undergraduate degree with some lab experience (even school-lab classes are OK). Be able to do molar math, dilution equation-math, and other chemistry-related math. Be able to carry or lift 50 pounds. ​The time commitment is 25 hours a week.
