Democratic Election Outreach in Queens $17-$20 per hour

We are building a campaign to elect the next City Council person in Council District 19. We are looking for well spoken, active individuals who want to be involved in the political process and determine who will be our next representative. We are up against big outside money who are pushing our longstanding community out of the neighborhoods they grew up in and raised families. Too often groups like big real estate developers use their money and influence to buy elections and ensure they can do as they please. This election is about ensuring that people in Queens can have a representative that is fighting for the little guy, not big money. City Council is about where the next multi-unit apartment or skyscraper is built, the next subway stop, fair and affordable housing, senior support and so much more. Our local representatives mean more to our day to day life then any other vote we cast. We need to make sure the public is informed and know what is at stake. Description: We are engaging registered Democratic voters in public and gathering signatures. This is done through door to door outreach where we invite folks to come outside to speak to us about the election and inspire them to support our candidate as well. All the people we talk to will be Democrats and only other Democrats can acquire petition signatures. We have 5 hour and 8 hour shifts available from Tuesday-Saturday up to the Democratic Primary at the end of June. Requirements: -Must be a registered Democrat in order to petition. Other positions are available -Able to comply with all Covid-19 campaign requirements and protocol -Well spoken, articulate and coachable -Able to work independently and effectively without supervision -Ability to be on our feet, walking for 4 or more hours per day -Reliable schedule.
