Description
Missy is a one year old female tabby cat who has been spayed (with tatoo as proof), and has her 1 year cat shots, with a clean bill of health at the recent check-up (no parasites in stool sample, no ear mites, no fleas, etc.) at Marina Clinic (31st & Mingo). Missy is very friendly and likes to be around people (she is not aloof like some cats). She will follow you into whatever room you are go to, and curl up on the floor near your feet or chair. But she doesn't jump up into your lap -- which may be a plus if you don't like cat hair on your clothes. She is affectionate in that she likes to be petted on the top side of her body (head, ears, cheeks, nose, neck, and back), but not on her belly. She also is not a picky eater, chowing down on whatever we give her -- dry food, soft food, raw egg, yogurt, etc. Missy is also very quiet -- no loud meowing or yowling like some cats do. Missy has more of a soft squeak that is very cute. Missy is not demanding. Missy is a cat we rescued who obviously was raised as an indoor cat, but apparently was abandoned and kept showing up at our house at night starving, and wanting to come indoors. (I have posted her photo in Nextdoor.com's Lost & Found section back in January, and had the vet check her for a digital chip that might reveal an owner). No one has claimed her or recognized her. We fed her on our outside front porch at night for perhaps a week, then when the snow storm (and below zero temperatures) were about to hit, we let her inside to save her life. Missy was thrilled and has behaved well -- and runs away from the door when we go outside, like she is afraid we will throw her outside. She is litter box trained and always goes at her litter box, but has not yet learned to cover her poop. The vet doctor speculated this may be why she was thrown out, or else the owner moved into an apartment that doesn't allow pets -- thus Missy was left behind outdoors. However, after feeding Missy yogurt a number of times, her poop has become very tolerable with little odor. We just leave a plastic spoon stuck in the litter box to use to cover her poop. Our problem with keeping Missy is our own male cat Buddy, which we have had for about 9 years, will fight her if allowed in contact. So we have to keep the two cats in opposite ends of the house, with opposing hallway doors open and rubber-banded together. This is too challenging to maintain for years to come. So Missy is available to be a friendly companion to a new owner or couple. She would be especially valuable if a person feels lonely, as Missy loves to be near her owner, and you would have someone to talk to. And of course any cat is good for keeping mice away from your house and garage. Missy could sleep at night in either your house or garage. We close her up in a room at night, and she is quiet all night. You can re-name her, as we have only called her Missy for a month. Missy is free, with a litter box thrown in with the deal.
