Slow down and awaken your senses on a 3 hour guided therapeutic forest experience. Forest Bathing, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, is a restorative sensory exploration that supports health and healing for all beings. Forest Bathing is part of a global effort to tend to the stressful conditions of living in modern industrialized civilization. What to Expect:Come discover for yourself what happens when we unplug, slow down and open our senses to nature. Every prompt, invitation, and ways of sharing are optional. You interpret for yourself. What participants will need to bring:A mask - Required (you will not be able to participate without a mask)Something to sit on such as a light camp chair, blanket, towel or small tarp. We will be sitting and the ground may be wet or cold. Comfortable walking shoes and comfortable clothes with an extra warm layer. Be prepared for cooler temperatures and possible rain. Unless there is a significant downpour or storm, we will meet in the rain so bring whatever you need to feel comfortable.Bottle of Water, Bug Repellant, sunscreen A light backpack to carry whatever you bring so that your hands are freeA signed liability & release form Instructor(s): Tam Willey (they/she/he) Tam is a certified forest therapy guide. Tam is a trainer, mentor and teacher with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Tam founded "Toadstool Walks," a guiding practice based in Boston, Massachusetts. Tam designs and runs immersion retreats. Examples of organizations Tam has worked with: Boston Harbor NowThe Venture Out Project and Tam has been mentoring and working with LGBTQ Youth through various programs in Boston for the last decade. For more information about Tam, check out Toadstool Walks Nadine Mazzola (she/her/hers) Nadine Mazzola is a certified forest therapy guide. She led her first guiding forest therapy walk in 2015. She is a trainer, mentor and teacher with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Nadine founded New England Nature and Forest Therapy Consulting based in Acton, MA. She wrote the award winning book “Forest Bathing with your Dog”. The book combines the practice of forest therapy with our practice of walking our dogs. The practice elevates the depth of both. She has been featured on PBS Windows to the Wild, ABC’s Chronicle and in the Boston Globe and Boston Magazine for her work on Forest Therapy. Nadine has a business and marketing background. She is a former world professional pocket billiards player on the Women's Professional Billiard Tour.
