Open Position:
Entry Level Cabling Technician (No Experience Necessary)
ECS has an outstanding opportunity for an entry level Low Voltage Structured Cabling Technician. This position is responsible to work in a team environment and will work directly with a Lead Technician. This position provides “On the Job Training”. This position is paid on an hourly basis. Usual workdays are Monday – Friday between 8:00am & 5:00pm. (actual schedule will include after-hours work)
Job Duties:
Installing and terminating CAT5e/6/6A Copper cabling
Installing and terminating Fiber Optic cable
Punch downs, and Installing Patch Panels
Rack & Stack Electronic equipment, assembling Data Racks/Enclosures (floor and wall mount)
Testing cables
Troubleshooting
Working on Ladders, Scissor-Lifts and/or Boom-Lifts
Will be Learning:
Color Codes, Punch Downs, and Patch panels
Troubleshooting
BICSI, EIA, TIA and NEC Standards
How to operate a Scissor Lift and/or Boom-Lift
Requirements:
Must have a Valid Driver’s License
Must be on time to work
Must have/obtain basic cable install tools
Must be available to work out of town on occasion
Must be available to work any shift on occasion (day, swing, graveyard)
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook
Must be able to take and follow direction
Desired Light Construction experience using the following tools:
Measuring Tape, Level, Cordless Drill, Hole-Saw, Screwdriver, Pliers, Wire-Cutters, Circular Saw, Reciprocating Saw (Saws All), Staple Gun, etc.
Compensation:
$15.00 – $20.00 per hour (DOE)
