A legal and permitted cannabis company is seeking a talented, energetic production manager to lead a team overseeing various tasks including (but not limited to); bucking, trimming, packaging, joint production, labeling, and machine operation. Cannabis industry and managerial experience is preferred but not required. The farm is located 45 minutes from Arcata/Eureka in Kneeland. All employees must have reliable transportation to and from work. As a manager, you are responsible for overseeing the production and processing team and tracking efficiencies. We will be conducting interviews over the next several weeks. We are looking for people who are respectful, motivated, punctual and are committed to taking this job seriously as well as meticulously following details. Job Responsibilities Ensure safety and compliance with the SDS safety program Daily tracking of efficiencies of each employee Oversee a high-volume production environment and streamline processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Delegate tasks and set deadlines. Discover training needs and provide coaching. Manage daily operations of manufacturing, and processing departments including but not limited to employee schedules, policies, and procedures. Manage communication between departments amongst managers and employees concerning policies and procedures as well as company goals. Develop and refine policies and procedures to measure productivity and quality standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure efficient operations. Maintain a positive and productive work environment as well as company culture and values. Oversee employee relations and conflicts while ensuring disciplinary procedures in accordance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements. Stay up to date with current laws and regulations in addition to manufacturing and processing best practices and concepts. Maintain team morale among departments. Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments. Ensure facility compliance, standards, and cleanliness. Liaise with management to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals. Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of the business to ensure smooth progress including but not limited to material sourcing, equipment troubleshooting, and employee relations. Be aware of the supply chain, coordinate material, and resource allocation Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques Cannabis operations experience in manufacturing and processing environments preferred. Natural team leader with strong management and communication skills. Skilled with strategic planning, budgeting, and HR. Strong oral and written communication. Ability to organize, plan, and meet company goals and requirements. Proven work experience as a manager Ability to manage large groups in a fast-paced environment. 3 + years of experience in cannabis production or equivalent 5 + years of management 5+ years of relevant management/leadership experience in a fast-paced, high volume environment Experience in cannabis production Computer literacy in working with Google Sheets, Microsoft Office suite (mainly Excel) and Attributes. Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.
