Prides Crossing Commuter Rail Station To Close April 5

BEVERLY, MA — The Prides Crossing commuter rail station in Beverly will close April 5. The closure is part of a dramatic reduction of service because of lower ridership amid the coronavirus health crisis. Prides Crossing was targeted for closure based on its low passenger rate and alternative stations available in Beverly at the Beverly Farms stop. The MBTA has also suspended service between North Beverly and Salem on bus route 451. Route 465 connecting Salem to Danvers and 456 connecting Salem to Lynn are also suspended. As a result of the Gloucester Drawbridge Replacement project, shuttle buses are being used to replace some inbound and outbound trains. Shuttle buses will run from Beverly to Rockport inbound and outbound on weekends through the end of the summer. The MBTA is collecting feedback from the public on the Spring 2021 service changes and service allocation process. Please email their community liaisons at [email protected].
