Pug scammers

We bought a black male “pug” puppy this week from a scammer. We suspected he was a scammers but didn’t have the heart to leave the poor puppy with such a despicable individual. The vet information was forged. The DOB was the current date and there were misspelled words so we pretty much figured it was forged. A call to the vet the next day confirmed the information was forged. The scammer showed up with the pug “parents” - 2 fawn pugs that could not be the parents of a black pug. The pug is very tiny so he claimed it was the runt and insisted he was 9 weeks old when my husband questioned him. After a real vet check-up the following day, the vet is guessing the “pug” is more like 7 weeks old and in poor health. Luckily he doesn’t have parvo but is sickly & we are nursing him to health. The puppy looks like a pug but we can’t be sure. This male scammer looked Asian(possibly Mexican) and is driving a white Chevy truck. If breeders claim the puppies have been to the vet for a check-up & their first set of shots, ask for the vet information before you agree to meet them and call the vet to confirm the information is correct. A legitimate breeder should be responsive to your questions and willing to give you any veterinarian information you request. FYI vets won’t give vaccines to sick puppies and they don’t get their first set of shots until 6 to 8 weeks old. Ask the breeder to schedule an appointment with a vet for a puppy check up that you will pay for and meet them at the check up so the vet can tell you if the puppy is healthy and ready to leave it’s mother. It costs $50 and will save you the hundreds of dollars it costs when you end up with a too young, and sickly puppy. We have a phone number ) for this person that we’d been texting back and forth with so we texted and called asking him to just tell us the truth about the puppy so we could give him the care he needs but he was too cowardly to just do the right thing and be honest.
