Milford's Tax Rate Likely Won't Rise For 6th Straight Year

MILFORD, CT — Milford is likely headed for its sixth-year in a row of no tax hikes, reports the Connecticut Post. The city budget is forecast to increase by 1 percent to $121.2 million, while the Board of Education is seeking a 2.25 percent increase or a $99.7 million spending plan, the Post reports. Mayor Ben Blake told the CT Post that despite the spending increase, the growth of new businesses combined with state and federal grants will likely help the city avoid a tax hike. Blake told Milford Patch that his 2021-2022 budget proposal "builds on past successes and establishes a solid framework for yet another responsible fiscal year."
