Lockdown Lifted At Centaurus High School

LAFAYETTE, CO — A lockdown at Centaurus High School in Lafayette was lifted early Wednesday afternoon after a teacher said they heard shots fired, authorities said. "Police have cleared CHS," the Lafayette Police Department said in a tweet sent at 12:47 p.m. "The school is no longer on lockdown and school administrators have asked students to resume to their normal schedules." An investigation revealed no evidence of gunfire in the area, and no injuries were reported, police said. Many police officers, deputies and other law enforcement officers were at the school investigating Wednesday morning, and drones were seen over the building, at 10300 W South Boulder Rd. More than 40 patrol cars were called to the area. South Boulder Road westbound reopened around 11:30 a.m., but the road's eastbound lanes remained closed near the school until 12:45 p.m. while an investigation was underway, police said.
