Let's help the Homeless Women of Los Angeles and donate to the Downtown Women's Center. Los Angeles County, already struggling with one of the nation’s largest homeless populations, has taken a hard hit since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for women who are more vulnerable on the streets. In honor of this year's International Women’s Day, we are thus hosting a safe and contactless drop-off in-kind donation drive to benefit the Downtown Women’s Center. Guests can safely drop off toiletries, clothes and shoes at the front desk of the hotel, which will be distributed to women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women in Los Angeles. Please donate new or gently used clothing and shoes. Please launder the clothing within the week of donating. We invite our community to stop by anytime at our front desk between Monday, March 8th and Monday, March 15th! The Downtown Women’s Center is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. The Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) envisions a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Its mission is to end homelessness for women in greater Los Angeles through housing, wellness, employment, and advocacy. They envision a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. DWC addresses the immediate and long-term needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness through gender-based and trauma-informed services.
