Police Chase Ends In Fiery Crash Killing Bystander

LOS ANGELES, CA — A police chase ended in a fiery crash that killed a bystander Tuesday night in the Fairfax district. The suspect in the crash was in custody Monday morning on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a deputy, according to CBS2. A Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputy was chasing a silver sedan near Fairfax Avenue and Third Street at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when the sedan crashed into a blue SUV, killing the driver, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Video from the scene showed the SUV on a sidewalk, pinned between a tree and a building, as firefighters attempted to free the driver from the wreckage and deputies arrested the suspect.
