BURNSVILLE, MN— Over the 1-year anniversary of the coronavirus pandemic, the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce is offering coupon books for local businesses to encourage residents to visit and support local restaurants that are suffering. "Bite of Burnsville" has been an annual event for 30 years, but this year the event has a focus on supporting local businesses as they recover from the economic downturn from COVID-19, the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce said. The $50 "passports" offer over $500 in deals, with ten percent of the profits going towards the restaurant relief fund for the restaurants participating in the event, the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce said. The offers in the passport are redeemable all of March, the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce said. At the end of March, the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce said there will be a virtual silent auction and a "People's Choice Award". Restaurants from the passport submitted a dish to be voted on.
