Learn how to develop and design your own linkage system to create a necklace or bracelet utilizing recycled & repurposed materials. 1.5-Day Hybrid Workshop Saturday, March 20, 2021 – 10am-4pm Sunday, March 21, 2021 - 10am-1pm Description: Learn how to develop and design your own linkage system to create a necklace or bracelet utilizing recycled & repurposed materials. Students will be introduced to a variety of designs and techniques to make chains, clasps and explore various materials. Students will learn the basics of sawing, filing and finishing techniques. This workshop is suited for students of all levels. What is a Hybrid Workshop?: For this workshop, students will be in-person at Contemporary Craft. The instructor will be on Zoom on a large screen in the Studio. Zoom sessions with the instructor will be Saturday, 10am-12noon & 2pm-4pm, and Sunday from 10am-1pm. During the break on Saturday, students are encouraged to continue their work in the Metals Studio, have lunch, and explore the Gallery and Store at Contemporary Craft. Tuition: $120 + $20 materials fee Materials: All materials will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring materials from home that they would like to incorporate into their chains. Location: Contemporary Craft (5645 Butler St., Pittsburgh, PA 15201) COVID-19: We are excited to welcome you to our new, permanent space for art in the artistic neighborhood of Lawrenceville. For your safety and the safety of those around you, face masks are required for all guests ages 2 and up for the entire duration of your visit.Maintain a safe distance. Please leave plenty of room between yourself and the other guests during your visit.When in doubt, ask for assistance. In order to minimize contact with surfaces, please refrain from touching surfaces and objects unless absolutely necessary. You can use the hand sanitizing stations located throughout the building. No food or drink allowed.By registering for a workshop, you agree to follow the safety protocols mentioned above during your visit to Contemporary Craft. Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded through Eventbrite, or you may leave your workshop fee in your Contemporary Craft account for future workshops. Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.
