Simple Manufacturing/Bookkeeping/ Office Help. Will train. (Home Office Setting) • $17/hour ($18/hr after 6 months) • Employee will need to submit a W-4 form • 18 hours a week Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 9:00-3:00 (or 10:00-4:00, depending on employees preference) LOCATION: • The business is located in a home office/apartment in Oakland not far from Highland Hospital. • The apartment is located up 3 flights of stairs. It is not wheelchair accessible (no elevator) • In the process of getting cats. If you have cat allergies this might not be the job for you. ABOUT: I make and sell simple communication products for people who can't speak. I run a small online store. Looking for a part-time employee to help me fill orders, make communication aids and assist with packaging, simple bookkeeping and other tasks. JOB ACTIVITIES •SIMPLE MANUFACTURING: Putting together simple (non computerized) communication aids. This might mean attaching the wires from a laser to a battery box, drilling a hole in plastic, or placing a sticker very precisely on a plastic board. The work does require some dexterity. An employee would never be doing anything intense (like soldering), for more than an hour or two. I try to switch back and forth between different activities. SIMPLE BOOKKEEPING About half of the job will entail inputting information into QuickBooks (a bookkeeping software program.) No experience required, training provided. Some computer experience would be helpful • PACKAGING & SHIPPING : A big part of the job is packaging orders, and getting postage online. Must be able to lift 15 pounds. (Infrequent lifting.) -------- QUALITIES I'M LOOKING FOR IN AN EMPLOYEE: •ATTENTION TO DETAIL The products that I make require multiple steps, and a lot of precision. I take quality control very seriously. The products are for people who can't speak, so if the device breaks down, they don't have a way to communicate.... CORONAVIRUS/SAFETY • Must be willing to wear an N95 mask while at work (will be provided) • Work area is separated from the rest of the apartment by plastic sheeting. • There are two large windows in the work area, as well as a fan for exhaust and for ventilation.
