Description
In the last year or so, have you lost or given away a green iguana? In a couple months, it will have been a full year since I took in an iguana housed in a laundry hamper kept by a man living out of his car. Over the time I've been looking after this lovely yet feisty lizard I've come to understand it's still waiting for it's dad to show up (the person who raised it). This iguana was obviously very well cared for before the incident that lead to it living in a car, things like nail trimming, when it will volunteer a foot to trim, or when male visitors come over with a certain timbre of voice & it comes bolting out to see and check to make sure who it is (my guess from displayed interests is he would have dark hair) have moved me to toss out a few feelers to see if he's still out there. No tail breaks, a few healed, old rips along the bottom of the dewlap that likely happened while it was young. The full length at the time of acquisition was between 2-3 feet, a little over a foot from tip of the nose to vent. These photos are from shortly after coming to my home, after it's first vet visit here. Anyone is welcome to share this post anywhere, I am keen to discover the missing dad in this iguanas life, so if you or someone you know have had a situation resembling this, please reach out.
~Please note~ I am *not* seeking to rehome or sell this iguana to anyone else, I am seeking it's dad in an attempt to reunite them if he so chooses.
