Local, Sterling-based residential landscape Company seeks an experienced Lead Irrigation Technician to install and service our client’s irrigation equipment. As the Lead Irrigation Technician, you will be responsible for mapping out irrigation areas, digging trenches, installing equipment. Testing the system and conducting regular maintenance checks. You may also be required to install electrical timers, connect water recycling systems and to servicing water features. The Lead Irrigation Technician must possess a valid VA driver's license with a clean DMV record. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a conversational proficiency in Spanish, to effectively lead/manage the crew. The residential irrigation technician’s primary roles include: • Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work. • Driving to the client’s location. • Testing the soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs. • Mapping out areas for irrigation installation. • Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines. • Installing pumps and electrical timers. • Testing the irrigation system with the aid of computer software. • Conducting routine maintenance checks. • Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts. • Completing materials allocations and associated paperwork through the Aspire software program. Candidates for the Lead Irrigation Technician role should possess the following qualities: • Proven work experience as an Irrigation technician • Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. • An ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects. • Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate. • Ability to work within a budget of time and materials. • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Outlook, project management software, and time clock mobile applications. • Possesses a courteous, client-centric demeanor. • Effective communication • Understanding that the happiness of our clients (and team members) is our #1 goal. The position of Lead Irrigation Technician earns a hourly range of $25 to $50 based on the applicant's experience and knowledge plus performance-based incentives and full benefits (i.e., health insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off, continuing professional education, etc.).
