The Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of semi-skilled mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and miscellaneous building maintenance tasks at residential apartment communities in the Fort Collins and Windsor area. Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Entry Level | Reports to Maintenance Manager Compensation: The salary range for this position is $17-$19/hour. Why join the CARE Housing team? Essential Duties / Responsibilities • Professional customer relations skills. • Under limited supervision, perform a variety of diverse building maintenance tasks in the areas of maintenance, construction, and equipment operation for CARE Housing properties and facilities. • Perform maintenance and repair from work orders. • Perform preventative maintenance work. • Complete required documentation utilizing Property Management software. • Perform irrigation, landscaping, snow removal, and other related duties as necessary to maintain the CARE Housing properties. • Maintain a clean and orderly shop including inventory management. • Adherence to CARE Housing, Inc. agreed upon values and principles. • Regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, carry, walk, and stand. • Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate tools and equipment; vision for reading, recording, and interpreting information; speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with staff and vendors. • Concentrate on moderate detail in both office and field with moderate interruption. • Use tools and equipment in the performance of maintenance tasks. *Weekend emergency on-call rotation is required. Environment: Work will be performed in indoor and outdoor environments, in and around equipment, in areas of limited access, confined spaces, heights, and unsanitary conditions. Exposure to different risks and climates. Qualifications • 1+ years of related experience preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Technical training or certifications in related field preferred. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware accessories, waste management systems, and irrigation systems, emergency systems, shutoffs, locations, and sequence of operations and regulations surrounding hazardous materials and risk management. • Good reliable vehicle and set of tools. • Valid driver's license. • Basic math, reading and writing skills. • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. • Must pass background check.
