Landscaper/Groundskeeper(s) for 2021 Employment type: Part-Time, Seasonal. April thru November. About Close at Hand: We are an ecologically minded-client focused small urban gardenscaping company located in a friendly and expanding commercial corridor in the 19125 East Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. Our mission is to enhance the beauty of urban living by maintaining and upgrading outdoor spaces. Our company is on the verge of expanding and we are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable individuals to grow with us. Join us this year planting and installation season and with opportunities to continue into next year and beyond! Description: Under the direction of the lead horticulturist, you will assist with upkeep and upgrades to urban greenscaping jobs. Work entails loading and unloading for jobs; shoveling and raking up yard debris; digging and preparing garden beds for planting and pruning perennials, shrubs, and small trees; watering: organizing tools and supplies; running errands; and some hardscaping and light carpentry work. Part-Time: 8-30 hours a week, as needed. 2 days a week to start 3 days guaranteed May-Sept. Hours increase as the season gets going. Some flexibility in days and hours available. Rate: $14-$17/hr depending on experience Qualifications: -Landscaping experience and familiarity with trade tools and practices (preferred) -High School diploma -Experience doing manual labor -Ability to lift 40-60 pounds -Willing to work long hours in all weather conditions -Valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual (preferred) Positive Attributes: -Reliable, responsible and organized with a strong work ethic -Ability to work both independently and with a team -Attention to detail and professional -Ability to listen to and follow verbal instructions -Willingness to learn new skills and work long hours when needed Educational opportunities and on the job training available.
