AN EVENING WITH STANDARD ELECTRIC RECORDERS
And no, we are not talking digital woodwinds. SER is a newly-relocated Atlanta recording studio owned and operated by Damon Moon. While looking for a new facility to meet his growing studio business, Damon recently stumbled upon the empty 4,000 sq ft. Greater Mt. Zion Full Gospel Baptist Church in Scottsville. Mmmmm, an old church with hardwood floors built in 1950 – yeah, a perfect location for a recording studio. Damon scooped it up, did some remodeling, and now the studio’s calendar is jam packed through August. Damon was featured in the Nov/Dec online issue of TapeOp and now AES is highlighting his studio and contribution to the Atlanta recording business.
AES recently visited SER for a tour and now we are bringing Damon and AES to you via Zoom. Join in Thursday night, March 18th. Meet Damon, hear about his studio, his approach to recording, his unique “drumbrella” resonance dampener, and get a video tour of the studio. We will also be treated to a special performance by one of Damon’s emerging dream pop clients, Bathe Alone (www.bathealone.com).
