Keyboard Player Wanted

Meets

New York City NY

Description

Rehearsals will likely be in Midtown Manhattan. A vocalist and drummer are provisionally committed to give this a go when the vaccine is distributed and the world opens up again. No hired guns. You want to be in a band, or you don't. That said, you should be a really good player. This band will have a fully developed pro sound that is not sloppy, indie, alternative, or amateur. No shabby, shoddy or sounding like a few steps away from beginner. My favorite keyboard players are: Jools Holland, Mose Allison, Leon Russel, Fats Domino, Jon Lord, Tim Tyler of Brainiac, Steve Naive, Al DeLory, Barry Andrews' playing on Fripp's League of Gentlemen album, George Duke and Jan Hammer among others. Good stuff in the works; I'm writing short form straight to the point rock, other rock, bluesy psychedelia inspired noisy prog rock, pop rock, rocky rock, edgy dissonant off the wall rock, psychedelic bluesy groovy stoner pop, country and western swing/rockabilly, etc. Sometimes a song is an admixture of any of the above, but not genre stacking. Drums, Bass, Vacals and Guitar (me) on board for rehearsals in the post vaccine world. Material is always in development and I get ideas regularly. I write and/or work on arrangements every day. I’m shooting for catchy, cool, distinct and very tight, not hackneyed, not amateur, not corporate or predictable nor overly derivative and out of date and definitely much better than Indie/Alternative stuff that I consider to be amateur garbage. If you're looking for a band to join that sounds like your favorite bands this is likely not going to be it. It won't sound like my favorite bands either. It will, however, be better than the new stuff that's out there now. If you are looking towards being a full time pro (write record tour repeat) I think I can get us there. Within 6 months I believe we'll be getting attention and hopefully revenue. I do have a plan laid out on how to proceed and get to that level. Be able to make the switch to full time pro if and when the situation arises. Because, it is likely that the situation will arise. If you want to be a full time pro, making a living at it, with all the perks, I think I can get a band heading in that direction. If you are tied to a career that you can't say goodbye to, or too afraid of taking a drastic leap from, well, this is not your scene. This is not a hobby band type project. The objective is to write good songs, sell records and work at this at a full time pro level. If you have committent problems or substance abuse issues please pass on this. Once rehearsals and work up sessions start you're going to need about 20 hours per week for prep at home and rehearsals, plus travel to rehearsals, most likely in Midtown Manhattan, 2 times a week but maybe 3 times on occasion. Send a sample or a video and contact info or don't bother I don't have time for back and forth blabbering that goes nowhere. Let your playing do the talking.
