JOB TITLE: General Machine Operator DEPT.: Machine Shop JOB CODE: 0310 GRADE: 03 SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform repetitive drilling, reaming, tapping and deburring operations, sorting of parts, and/or press operations to form, extrude, broach, pierce and trim various parts on press and broach machines. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate drilling, reaming, tapping and deburring equipment and/or operate press and broach machines to form, extrude, broach, pierce and trim parts according to predetermined requirements. Check parts at prescribed intervals using gauges to insure parts conform to prints. Maintain SPC Data with on-going information pertaining to gauge conformance. Maintain shop orders as to quantities completed and move parts to next area or work center indicated by shop order after operation is complete. Ensure good quality and a clean and safe work area at all times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the upkeep of the area. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a level of knowledge that is usually associated with a High School graduate with three months of machine operations experience or equivalent. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: • General Safety • Quality System Awareness • Hazardous waste handling PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Combination of Manufacturing and Office environment • Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and odors
