Sweet mix breed for re-homing

I have an approx 2 year old mix breed dog that desperately needs a good home. He is medium size, about 40 pounds. Is due for heartworm preventative as well as yearly vaccinations due early March. Gunner is energetic, loves to play, good with older kids. He could have a tendency to knock over small children with his zeal. He also loves to cuddle and is extremely happy laying beside you. He would love to be your only dog as he is an attention hog. No idea how he does with cats or other pets. We have been working on his leash training and basic commands. He has a few scars as he was a rescue. He is afraid of thunder and not a fan of water. He is house trained. He is a super sweet somewhat timid boy that would love a yard to play in and lots of attention. He loves people. Financially unable to care for him properly and cannot bring him to where we are moving so hoping he can find a good home ASAP. No re-homing fee, we just want him to be happy and loved.
