Shop/Yard Assistant Browning Contractors, Inc. is a leading underground construction company for the Central Valley. We are looking for a hard-working individual to add to our Shop/Yard crew. This position requires operating a variety of hand and power tools, forklifts, and maintaining a clean work space area. Applicants must have experience on a forklift and must provide a DMV printout to be considered for hire. It is vital that applicants are eager to learn and able to work well in a team environment. Essential Functions: Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor: lifting, stooping, bending Tasks may involve working at various and extensive height altitudes Operate the wash rack; pressure washing trucks and outside equipment to remove dirt, grease, grime etc. Maintaining a clean work space area (sweep, mop, organize, clean all oil tanks and hoses) Cleaning and organizing yard and mechanic shop Operate trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies Managing proof of delivery paperwork from customers and vendors. Constantly operate forklift to move materials and equipment around the yard and to load and unload trucks Use of various hand and power operated tools such as drills, wackers and saws. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position lifts heavy objects up to 80 pounds by themselves, or more than 80 pounds with assistance not to exceed 100 lbs. The position walks, stands, kneels and bends for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
