I love teaching. It is my passion. I was born and raised in Brazil, so Portuguese is my native language. In addition, I have a bachelor's degree in Portuguese and was a Portuguese teacher for 18 years in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I would enjoy teaching you the beauty of the Portuguese language. Learn at your pace and prioritize the areas and/or methods that you would like. Whether it be starting with the basics, concentration on verbs and conjugations, translation of current events, reading Brazilian newspapers, etc., we will customize a plan for you and modify it as we go. While learning a language may have its challenges, the rewards are priceless. Imagine traveling to Brazil and asking directions, ordering from a restaurant and speaking with a Brazilian. Or, video conferencing with a company in Brazil to negotiate a contract. Knowing how to speak, understand, read and write another language will expand your comfort level and confidence to levels you've never experienced before. While I typically teach private lessons, I will consider teaching groups for an adjusted rate. I teach at a local, quiet, business establishment that's open to the public. My normal rate is $40/hour with a 2 hour minimum per lesson. A discount is available if paying for multiple lessons in advance. I'm available to travel a reasonable distance for an extra fee. While I try to be flexible with my scheduling, I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Thank you!
