From The JAX Chamber: February 26, 2021 Veterans went the distance for their country now IKEA Jacksonville is shorting the distance from the parking lot to the front door. IKEA Jacksonville celebrates First Coast area Veterans every day. As a way of honoring their service and sacrifice, over 50 store co-workers and store customers gathered for a special ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate new priority Veteran parking spaces. Veterans coming to shop at the IKEA Jacksonville, 7801 Gate Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32256, can now use the dedicated parking spaces, which are located at the store's front entrance. On hand for the dedication were local and district members of the VFW Beaches Honor Guard, including John (JP) Culin, Sr. Vice Commander/Veterans Service Office, VFW Post 3270, James Durnal, District Commander and IKEA Market Manager Christopher Nace, who spoke about the importance of honoring veterans and thanking them for giving back to our community. IKEA's vision is to create a better everyday life for the many people. Rifleman John D. Poe, Jr and Percy "Butch" Shadwell, flagman performed a special color guard ceremony to dedicate and open the new parking spaces. All attendees stayed to enjoy a complimentary lunch at IKEA's in-store Restaurant.
