Four Garden City Students Are National Merit Finalists

GARDEN CITY, NY — Four Garden City High School seniors have been recognized as National Merit Finalists in this year's National Merit Scholarship Program. Ian Bailey, Anteng Chen, Ryan Padala and Anthony Remick are among approximately 15,000 students across the nation that attained this distinction. Finalists are selected annually after first being designated as semifinalists based on their PSAT/NMSQT performances. The results of this qualifying test are submitted to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which identifies the highest scorers from a pool of more than 1.6 million entrants. "Congratulations to our National Merit Finalists," said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kusum Sinha. "This achievement demonstrates their hard work and dedication to academics. We are very proud of all they have accomplished!"
