Description

This workshop is a free art class being offer to kids age 7-15 years old. The art class will be led by professional artist Mike Grant. The concept of the project is to get creatively hands-on with the youth. Art is a creative expression that has a way of being interpreted in many forms. The project will be a way for the youth to self-express who they are through their work. The project "Keep art alive" is to keep the foundation art alive. Art plays a big role in a kid's life in many aspects. We are all artists in different ways, we each have a different story and style. One thing we have in common is to have the freedom of self-expression. This project "Keep Art Alive" offers a group collaboration. I will be working hands-on with all the students to teach, educate, and mentor them as my student. The innovation the project will bring is to open the student's minds; To be inspired in creating their work. The student will learn how to control their emotions when it comes to painting. Art is creative self-expression that takes great focus on the mind/brain. Everyone is an artist having self-control one thought, and being free in the creative process is what art is. You don't have to be a professional artist to create beautiful murals. The gift lives in all of us. The project will boost creative energy. I want everyone to walk away from learning a new skill from the workshop. I'm creating a safe place for everyone to feel accepted and be one. The project will teach students the social skills of organizing, creative, self-direct, fluent with technique, and communication. The project is targeting the youth. I am focused on building young men to kings, young girls into Queens. The workshop is open to kids aged seven-fifteen. This event is being sponsor by City of Charlotte the jumpstart grant committee.
