Description
The Concrete Foreman will plan, coordinate, budget and direct activities pertaining to construction and maintenance. This position will train employees on the safe operation of equipment and enforce company, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulations. The Concrete Foreman will participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee scheduling and implementation.
At least five (5) years of related experience and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience;
The ability to layout projects and shoot grade;
Experience placing footings, slabs on grade and on metal forms, formwork, walls;
Experience operating heavy equipment – e.g. backhoe, trencher, trackhoe, dozer;
Must demonstrate ability to determine concrete and reinforcing materials quanties;
Must be able to motivate crews;
Leadership and training skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Experience using a computer or the ability to learn how to use a computer; and
Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as requested or needed.
High school diploma or its equivalent
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Familiarity with contractors in the Austin and San Antonio metropolitan areas
Experience constructing site drainage features, curbs, inlets, pipe and bedding, erosion control
Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, construction science, building science or civil engineering
Masonry experience
MSHA Certified (5000-23)
First Aid/CPR Certification
Valid Class C driver’s license
Record of safe driving for the last three years as shown on current motor vehicle record (MVR), with no serious accidents or traffic violations
The experience to obtain a MSHA Surface Certification
