GLENDALE, CA — A Glendale boy accused of posting nude and partially nude pictures of more than a dozen underage girls on social media in acts of "revenge porn," has been arrested, police announced Monday. According to detectives with the Glendale Police Department, the juvenile posted nude pictures and videos of 14 young girls while often identifying them by name and their school. The case began in October when a girl reported that several people she followed on Snapchat reposted an account "that had pictures and videos of naked, under-age girls," the Glendale Police Department said in a news release. "Throughout the investigation, detectives learned of over 14 under-age victims involved in having nude or partially nude photographs of them posted online by this same account. Detectives followed up with each of the identified victims and learned of a potential suspect.," the department said. "On October 20, 2020, the detectives were granted a search warrant for Snapchat relating to the accounts." From the search warrant on the Snapchat account officers "confirmed a suspect based on IP Addresses and other account information," according to the department. According to investigators, the suspect, whose age was not released, appeared to be out of the country when he made the posts. Police interviewed him at his home Feb. 19, and he was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct relating to revenge porn, police said. The Glendale Police Department urged parents and guardians to discuss with children the seriousness of taking and sending nude photographs. The department released a public service announcement to help children understand what to do if they find themselves in a situation involving nude pictures of other kids.
