This class is open to people who reside, attend school, or are employed in Oconee County. We regret that we have to impose this limitation, This class is open to people who reside, attend school, or are employed in Oconee County. We regret that we have to impose this limitation, but we are limited in the number of students we can accommodate, and we simply can't turn away Oconee people for those of other counties. We hope that those of you from other counties will be understanding of this.  Each class is limited to 12 students. This is all that we can safely accommodate on the range at one time. The range is on private property that a land owner graciously allows us to use. It is not a county facility. There is no running water. We suggest that you bring any snacks, drinks, and other personal comfort items that you think you may need.  There is no set minimum age for the classes. Participants should be able to follow directions and operate a firearm without physical assistance. All students should meet in the Jail parking lot at 9:00 AM on the date of the event. We will conduct a classroom session at the Sheriff's Office, and then we will convoy to the range.  Students will need a firearm (pistol or revolver) that is in proper working order and at least 50 rounds of ammunition for it, hearing protection, eye protection, and a hat with a brim/bill.
