IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A stop at an Iredell County convenience store recently made an Iredell County man $250,000 richer. William Peters of Statesville won $250,000 by playing the Money Match scratch-off lottery game, North Carolina Education Lottery announced Tuesday.
Peters bought the winning $5 ticket at Fast Phil's, located on Mocksville Highway in Statesville, according to NCEL.
"Peters claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $176,876," NCEL said.
