Cyber crooks went to the dark web and bought Social security numbers then filed EDD claims and bilked the city out of almost 30 Billion. They even got names of people in prison and used their names and social. The lazy dumbshits running the state didn't check to see if these people were in prison just paid out the money each month. But the real kicker is that years ago you could only get a check mailed to you. But now they will send you a debit card. If they still only issued checks, it could be traced the thieves but with the debit card which the crooks chose to receive payments, the money cannot be traced. How sickening and ridiculous it this. Think about it when you're paying your 10% sales and your 1.2% Property tax that goes up every year. CA will soon be in debt for trillions.
