DEARBORN, MI — Dearborn police are hoping to find witnesses of a Saturday pedestrian collision that killed a 67-year-old woman, prompting chief of police Ronald Haddad to call it a "terrible tragedy."
"The Dearborn Police Department offers its sincere condolences to the victim's family," Haddad said.
Police said they first responded to the area of Greenfield Road, south of Ford Road, around 8:15 p.m. Saturday following reports that a vehicle had hit a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was crossing Greenfield Road when she was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, but police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the Dearborn Police Department at (313) 943-2246.
