Worldwide Knit in Public Day is a free event designed to show the public how much fun the fiber arts can be. This event is FREE, but we are requesting everyone who plans to attend to sign up for a ticket, so we can set up enough tables and chairs. Whether you knit, crochet, weave, spin, or do something else with fiber, please come join us for a day of fiber fun! Grab your current project and come join us for all or part of the day. There's plenty of room for spinning wheels and small floor looms. COVID SAFETY The Mill requires every customer(except those 2 and under) to wear a mask properly at all times while on site at the Mill. The Mill is private property: There are no exceptions for health concerns. You may take your mask off only while you are sitting down to eat or drink. NO EXCEPTIONS. All chairs will be placed to allow 6' social distancing between family groups. REGISTRATION Please register each person in your group individually so that we can have a preprinted nametag available for everyone. Advance registration does NOT guarantee that you will receive a goody bag. You do not need to bring a copy of your registration to the event. GOODY BAGS Goody bags will be available for the first 100 people to come through the registration desk on the day of the event. Goody bags are strictly limited to active fiber crafters. To be fair to everyone, any extended family members who are non-crafters are not eligible for goody bags. So don't bring all your kids and neighbors with you hoping you'll go home with a dozen goody bags! EVENT ACTIVITIES Celebrate Your Work Show: Show off one or more of your favorite handcrafted fiber arts objects. You deserve accolades for your accomplishment! You never know, you may also inspire someone else's next project. We will have short description forms for you to fill out at the event. If you remember the info, please be prepared to share information about the yarn and pattern you used. You will be asked! Destash Swap Table: Do you have a stash of yarn that you know you're never going to use? Bring your full or partial skeins and leave some treasures on the table for someone else. Take some treasures home with you. Any yarn left at the end of the day will be donated. Door Prizes: We will give away door prizes throughout the event. You must be present to win. Trunk Shows: We hope to have a couple of designers and/or indie dyers with us who will show off their wares in our studio. WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU Chair: We will have the Mill's standard plastic banquet chairs available for everyone. However, they are not the most comfortable. You are welcome to bring a cushion or a portable chair of your own.Project to work onFood and bevarage: You are welcome to bring whatever you like in with you. We also encourage you to support the food and beverage vendors at the Mill. Money: SPARKLE Studio will be open in case you want to check out any of our new products. We may also have a surprise trunk show or vendor set up in our studio.
