Description

Hello neighbors and community partners My name is Jared and I work locally in Portland as an educational media content producer. I am currently working on a grant funded program aimed at assisting families experiencing migration to the US. The program is funded federally and was developed by the University of Minnesota's Institute for Translational Research in Children's Mental Health and the Center for Resilient Families. The Center for Resilient Families is a federally funded center through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. Our mission is to bridge the gap between mental health treatment and resources and community implementation. Part of that goal is working through parents as a form of prevention. We have spent the last several years of our grant developing products and providing training for mental health providers who work with marginalized and at-risk families. The program is based on many years of research with families from all over the world but is specifically modified to address the challenges faced by immigrant and refugee families. We are currently seeking parents of all ages to interview for this program and hear about their experiences with parenting. We are seeking participants with origins in Southeast Asia, African and Latin American countries, and Arabic speaking countries to interview and hear about their experiences with parenting in the US. This program is being shot in English and then dubbed. We are looking at the third Saturday in March as a possible interview day. Interviews will be filmed at a local park in NE Portland. Please take a look at the website and message me if interested and I will follow up individually with more information and next steps. Credentials and verification from the university can be provided as requested. We are able to offer a $100 incentive for your time. Interviews generally go about 30 minutes to an hour. Please feel free to share with anyone you know who may be interested. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thx! -Jared https://itr.umn.edu
