SMITHTOWN, NY — Chick-fil-A is set to open one of its chicken joints in Smithtown. The 530 Smithtown Bypass location is due to start serving up grub on Thursday, according to a news release. The business will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The Smithtown Chick-fil-A will forego its traditional First 100 Grand Opening celebration due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the branch will surprise 100 health care heroes at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center with free Chick-fil-A for a year, according to the business. Additionally, in honor of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 to Feeding America. The funds will be distributed to partners within the greater Smithtown area to aid in the fight against hunger locally. Chick-fil-A Smithtown will open via drive-thru only due to COVID-19. Guests can use contactless ordering and payment through the free Chick-fil-A mobile app or through online ordering. Chick-fil-A serves chicken sandwiches, strips, nuggets, wraps, waffle fries, milkshakes and more. Bryan Beasley, a Long Island native, will be the franchise owner of the Chick-fil-A, which also borders Hauppauge. Beasley will be responsible for employing roughly 100 full-and part-time team members, cultivating relationships with local organizations and neighboring businesses, and serving guests. Beasley opened Chick-fil-A Commack in 2016; his first restaurant. He will continue to serve as the operator of the Commack store while leading the Smithtown team. "Having been born and raised on Long Island, and now raising my own family here, I could not be more excited to expand Chick-fil-A's reach in the place that has shaped who I am today," Beasley stated. "Chick-fil-A Smithtown will further our efforts to serve great-tasting food with genuine hospitality to our community, while also providing personal and professional growth opportunities that I hope will shape a successful future for our Team Members."
