Join your fellow amazing Women Veterans Sisters for a coffee/tea and hike around Hawk Island! Come and spend some time with other incredible Women Veterans like yourselves! Coffee and tea are on us if you'd like to meet at the Strange Matter Coffee shop before we head out to Hawk Island for our hike. The trail around the lake is paved as well as additional trails totalling 6.5 miles. We'll walk the loop around the lake together (1.5 miles) and those interested in additional trail time may continue on! 2:00 pm - Meet at Strange Matter Coffee (2010 E. Michigan Ave #103, Lansing MI. 48912) and grab a coffee or tea on us 2:30 pm - Travel to Hawk Island (1601 E. Cavanaugh Rd, Lansing MI. 48910) 2:45 pm - Hike around the lake with the option for additional trails Trail(s): 1.5 miles around the lake with an additional 5 miles of paved trails. (Hawk Island County Park is a 100 acre park.) Parking: On-site, $3 local/$5 non-resident (those that are a part of the Woman Veteran Strong group will be reimbursed at the hike) Dogs: Dogs are allowed at Hawk Island with the exception of the area between the playground and the concession stand, which comprises the beach and Splash Pad® area.
