Northport OKs Change To Sunday Alcohol Sales, Board Appointments

NORTHPORT, AL — Northport restaurants will now be able to serve alcohol beginning at 10 a.m. on Sundays after the City Council voted 4-1 in favor of easing the restrictions to bring the city in line with other establishments in Tuscaloosa. Also known as "The Brunch Bill," it will amend the previous ordinance barring on-premise alcohol sales and consumption until noon on Sundays. District 3 Councilman John Hinton was the lone nay vote on the measure. Lewis* Lisa Ann Sellers Other Northport City Council business Council President Jeff Hogg named Jalapeños Mexican Grill as the city's Business of the Month for March. The Council approved the city administrator to negotiate a contract for $5,000 for Dr. John Myrick to update his 2013 feasibility study on a potential Northport city school system.
