WOBURN, MA — The city of Woburn is pausing its weekly coronavirus testing program due to a fall in both demand and the city's positive test rate, the mayor's office said Tuesday.
The city has been offering free testing to residents every Saturday for months, first at Showcase Cinema and then at the Senior Center.
"We will be monitoring the numbers closely and should the need arise the City will re-start testing as needed," the mayor's spokeswoman Dianne Mearls said.
The city's positive test rate fell to just 2.5 percent in the latest state report, Thursday. As of Friday, the city had 81 people in isolation with the virus, out of nearly 4,000 total cases.
