Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 03/02/2021     Update: The vehicle owner in this incident, Bryant D Mayner, age 32, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. The two juveniles, age 13 and 14, were arrested and charged with Entering an Auto and Curfew Violation.   210601814 Preliminary information:  On March 1, 2021 at around 10:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Flat Shoals Rd SE and Fayetteville Rd SE in reference to a person shot call.  Upon arrival, officers located two male juveniles both sustaining a gunshot wound to their leg.  Both were transported to the hospital alert, conscious and breathing.  Preliminary investigation revealed the two juveniles were at 2914 Memorial Drive at around 10:27 p.m. attempting to break into a vehicle at the location when the owner came outside.  The owner, who was armed, observed what was happening and shot towards his vehicle. After the shots were fired, the two juveniles fled the scene and were both discovered shot a short time later in the area of Flat Shoals Rd SE and Fayetteville Rd SE.  The vehicle owner has been detained and investigators will be responding to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.  The investigation continues.    Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.   This press release was produced by the Atlanta Police Department.
