New AC Unit Wanted b4 summer

My current situation - I have 2 AC units. One up and one down. Both units work completely fine and operate as they're supposed to. I've tested the temp diff and it's perfect. I do not want to replace these units. I want to potentially add a new smaller supplemental unit that connects to an indoor thermostat that I can use seasonally. Currently during the hottest part of the summer if I run my unit 24x7 I'm lucky if it's 80 in my home and the home will not get back to 70 until around 10. My solution last summer was a window unit but it really only helps with the room it's in (master). I have 4 kids who still suffer. I do not want to trash my current units. It's a waste because they work great and have never had problems. I'm considering a single zone Mitsubishi unit but am open to suggestions if there's a better option.
