Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic is a progressive small animal full-service veterinary hospital in Mercer Island, Washington. We are offering a part-time position for a hospital attendant. Candidates should be cheerful with a positive attitude and desire to make the hospital a great place for pets and their people! Candidates must: Be 18 years of age or older Have strong spoken and written communication skills Be punctual, reliable, and ethical Be self-starters and stay on-task and productive with little direct supervision Pass a background check Have Washington State photo ID or driver's license Have reliable transportation Be detail oriented Be able to stand, squat, bend, and walk for 4-hour shifts Be able to repeatedly lift up to 40 lbs Be comfortable working on step stools and small ladders Experience working with animals is helpful but not required Experience working in a setting where disinfection and infection control are needed is helpful but not required Hospital Attendants are responsible for: Maintaining the hospital as a clean and safe environment for patients, clients, and team members Scrubbing and sorting surgical instruments Laundry and dishes Cleaning and disinfecting animal housing areas Cleaning and disinfection of surgery, radiology, treatment, and examination areas Cleaning, organization, copying, collating, and various tasks in the client services area Restocking and inventory assistance Distribution of medical supplies throughout the hospital Maintenance and cleaning of in-house laboratory equipment Assorted tasks not directly related to animal handling and animal care Work hours are from 2pm-6pm or 3pm - 7pm Monday - Friday, depending on the day of the week. Minimum wage position. Pet health care benefits are available, but health insurance is not available for part-time workers at this time. Uniforms provided.
