Join the New England Black Stars on a discussion on language, culture and ownership. Join a conversation around Ghanaian culture, language and ownership. This conversation is moderated by Edzordzi Agbozo, a PhD candidate in Rhetoric, Theory and Culture at Michigan Technological University. Featuring a panel of professors, researchers and students: Francis Akutey-Baffoe is from Kumasi in Ghana. He is a Preceptor of African Languages in the Department of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Twi and Sociology, as well as a master’s degree in Ghanaian Languages (Twi) from the University of Cape Coast. He was teaching Assistant and later a Demonstrator in the Department of Ghanaian Languages and Linguistics at the University of Cape Coast between 2012 and 2018. He has also been a language Instructor for non-Twi speaking foreigners at the University of Cape Coast-Ghana. Augustina Owusu is a final Ph.D. Candidate at Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Her research area is the semantics of African languages. Owusu's work is on Akan, a Niger-Congo language, spoken in Ghana. Owusu Is currently finishing her dissertation titled "Anaphoricity Marking in Akan ". Genevieve Anna Quansah (bio will be updated) Evelyn Abbayaah-Issah has over 10 years of experience in healthcare operations, quality and global business development and strategy. She currently serves as Director for International Programs and Advisory Services at Mass General Hospital. As Director she has helped establish several global strategic collaborations and partnerships with global health institutions.
