Job Description Energy Performance Lighting is looking for a master electrician to join our team! EPL is an established company in Cottage Grove, WI that focuses on auditing, designing, and installing energy efficient lighting systems for existing public and commercial buildings. As a master electrician with EPL, you will be part of the operations team and travel to job sites located in the Midwest (typically Wisconsin and surrounding states) to install the new lighting systems and assist project managers as needed. Master Electrician The primary responsibilities of the electrician will be to perform a variety of activities normally performed by a commercial electrician including: installation of new wiring, repair wiring, wiring new electrical circuits, panels, devices, troubleshooting electrical problems and installing electrical fixtures (lighting and related controls). The Master Electrician has a significant role to ensure quality and timely installation of energy efficient lighting products for EPL’s customers/clients. The position will report directly to the Field Supervisor, or designated Field Lead. The Master Electrician is directly responsible for the following; Install new lighting fixtures and/or upgrade existing lighting fixtures, wiring, components and controls related to lighting systems in existing buildings Assembles, loads products, materials, consumables and/or equipment (small tools, ladders, etc.) required to complete each project. Directly responsible for quality and timely installation of lighting systems for assigned projects. Manages and maintains products, materials, consumables and/or equipment to minimize loss and maximize effectiveness. Unloads and organizes all products, materials, consumables and/or equipment (small tools, ladders, etc.) returned from assigned projects. Completes necessary project/product paperwork. Maintains a clean and organized job site. Maintains an accurate inventory of tools and supplies assigned to the job site. Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times and always makes decisions in the best interest of the company. Completes defective product documentation as needed. Completes necessary safety training. Adheres to all EPL and/or governing safety requirements. Drives company vehicle to and from projects as needed. Maintains a clean driving record. Maintains company vehicle and equipment as needed (gas, oil, tire pressure, etc.) Maintains a clean and organized job site. Maintains an accurate inventory of tools and supplies assigned to the job site. Qualifications State of Wisconsin Master Electrician License required. IL, IA, and/or MN a plus Frequently travels with overnight stays (rarely works weekends). Ability to work first, second or third shift. Work week is typically 4-10 hour days (Monday - Thursday) depending on client’s needs. Ability to pass State background checks (projects are mostly State owned and School District Projects). Valid driver’s license with clean record. Able to work on ladders and lifts. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work over your head. Good relationship skills and ability to collaborate with others to complete work. Able to communicate well with people at all levels. Self-driven and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong work ethic.
