Job Description Knowledge/Skills Required: Ability to read, write, speak & understand English/Spanish Strong communication & interpersonal skills Must be customer service oriented Forklift certified a plus Ability to use common tools Ability to use correct tools and safe use of them Ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to understand and follow directions as given Ability to use miscellaneous office equipment (e.g., computers, fax machine, copier, etc.) Ability to recognize safety issues & corrective actions Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards. Knowledge of basic Maintenance (changing light bulbs and assisting Maintenance Dep.). Skill in safely using cleaning products and equipment. Bi-lingual English/Spanish Primary Duties & Responsibilities: · Sweeps and mops floors in rooms and halls. · Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds, and equipment. · Cleans restrooms and fills dispensers. · Vacuums, spot cleans, and/or shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using vacuum cleaners and shampooing equipment. · Reports malfunction of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures, and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to supervisor. · Stocks area with appropriate supplies. · Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance. · Moves furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required. · Washes dishes or utensils as required. · Inspects building structure to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions in need of repair · Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches, fluorescent bulbs, fuses, minor appliances, cords) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools · Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, etc.) · Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g., preparing surface and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.) · Installs, positions and remounts’ modular offices and space (e.g., furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, file cabinets) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various power and specialty tools. · Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment · Performs outside building maintenance and clearance of hanging tree branches, etc. · Responsible for chemical waste disposal and sharps container disposal · Responsible for following all safety guidelines & regulations · Responsible of follow thru of safety action items as assigned · Coordinates with outside vendors as needed · Responsible for other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
